Work spaces vary in shape and size, and almost companies have a standard work space that does not offer allot of variety, in fact the majority of work spaces if you do not get your own office is just a square that’s attached to another square and so on.

Yes there are many units that feature large windows/plexus glass or low privacy structures, and just the opposite- no windows/plexus glass between you and the next person and or high walls. The key is making your work space not only a productive working environment but a flexible work space where your “cube” gives you the perfect surroundings for your business or craft, with your maximum creativity and design.

Let me suggest that if your office is one stuck on rigid rules for corporate sake, then you start small by adding some color to your space with real art, or instead of relying on old plastic in boxes and sorting folders you buy colored storage shelves, bins, and or boxes for filing away your paperwork and other necessary do-dads.

Scientific studies have shown that even a little break from your regular daily grind at the off can boost your immune system, rejuvenated new cells within the body, and help you be more creative at the office place- when we shift our mental focus it increases circulation to other parts of the brain allowing more creativity and mental focus, in other words it helps with burn out.

May I mention, if your corporate environment is flexible you might want to forgo the chair all together and get a firm stability ball, these balls are used for exercise and physical therapy but are also great for those people with back problems as this softens the stress on the lower back when sitting for a long time; A bold color here might not look very professional so keep your color choice neutral.

Not many people think of their work space as an oasis, but I’m letting you know if you don’t make something about your space comforting it’s going to be a long 8+ hours. So think of what keeps you calm, yet charged. Water features are often over looked for a desk yet in the last couple of years manufactures have come out with small table fountain that are no larger than a popcorn bowl. This subtle splash of water can do wonders for the mind and body while pushing forward on the heaviest of work loads.

Taking time or vacationing out does not have to be expensive, evasive to your lifestyle or schedule, the only thing taking time out does it just that you have to stop and enjoy the moment. I know of a boss working in the city who goes to the top of his building, sits on a plastic chair on the roof everyday for lunch and albeit this is not vacation this is his “break” time, it is time alone. We all need down time, how and when you take your down time/vacation is ultimately up to you.

For many people, managing their health care expenses and knowing what programs are available for their help is not always easy. But, working with the right people can make it easier, at Social Service Coordinators they have the leading health advocates in the nation why not check them out and start saving money today.
