A lot like a fish tank filter. There is a waterproof plastic housing within which there is a round coil of electrified wire. An impeller mounted to a shaft sits in a recess in the housing; a magnet at its base is excited by the electrified coil surrounding it and causes it to spin. The resulting spinning draws water through an inlet and past the impeller, to a discharge port. Sorry you asked?
