Is Vigorous Surface Aeration Enough?

I have a 155 gallon kidney shaped pond and a filter attached to a fountain pump. The fountain pump has a second port (for lack of a better word) for attaching a fountain nozzle but I’ve left it open and it churns the top of the water quite nicely. I’m concerned that it’s not enough to create movement through the bottom of the pond (which at the deepest part is 1 foot 7 inches) I’ve positioned the pump on a small ledge that’s 9 inches deep…

In a pond that shallow, it should be enough.
As long as the pond isn’t overstocked then practically any water movement will be enough. You just need to move the water around somehow and oxygen exchange will take place.
