I Have A Small Pond With A Goldfish,its Getting Very Cloudy. I Have A Pump But Do I Need A Filter?

the pond is a few months old, size about 8 foot by 4 foot, 2 foot deep. the pump is both fountain and waterfall and on all the time. I have a lily in and a small plant from a local stream. no expensive fish, just a goldfish which i hope to add about 3 more to. water very cloudy, can’t see much below surface.

I would really suggest going to a local pond supply and talk to the people there… Personally, I think you are going to need many more plants (natures filters) and a bio-filter. I’d have to look at the layout for placement, but that’s why you should go an talk to someone.
Your fish are putting a great deal of strain on the water due to the waste. You have no natural bio-filtration going, so the ammonia is going to keep building up. If you keep adding fish they will all die.
Also, feed the fish less (less waste).
Please go talk to a pond guy. I have a 3000 gallon pond with 2 waterfalls and a 20 foot stream, and it still took near a whole season for the “Cycle” to even out to a perfect balance.
PS – Don’t use chemicals, they are band-aids for a gaping wound.
Yes, you need a filter to clean the water in your tank. This is why it is getting cliudy,
Yes you need a pump. You might also consider adding some algae eaters {fish} to help with the problem.
A filter might clean it up, it will most likely clear up within a few hours of installiing a filter.
DUH.
yes you do need a fliter.. if u get a ppump w/ a filter and run it in a day or so u should be able to see down to the bottom
