Do I Really Need This For A Koi Pond?

I found a list of things that I need for a koi pond and I was just wondering if I really need all of this stuff.
-water pump
-bio filter (what is this?)
-mechanical filtration
-ultraviolet light system
-ozonator
-aerator
-waterfall
-fountain
-protein skimmer
-heating system
-underwater lighting
My pond is about 20x10x3 ft with the deepest area 5ft. I got this list from www.koifishponds.com/koi_pond_design.htm if this helps at all.

If you have the aerator you don’t need the waterfall or the fountain, although they look nice. The bio filter just helps keep the sludge and muck out of the works and keeps the water clean. You don’t need the underwater lighting if you don’t care about seeing the pond at night.
But the rest of it, yeah, you pretty much need for a healthy pond.
EDIT: if the waterfall is robust enough you can replace the aerator with that, no problem, but you really need the filter to keep the pump(s) from clogging. Keep in mind also that these are not self contained systems; you will have to clean/replace the pump media on a regular basis, balance the water chemistry, do partial water changes from time to time…also, if you have racoons in your area you’ll want to think about some sort of barrier to keep them out . Racoons think Koi ponds are sushi bars.
Well, I will admit that I am not familiar with everything on your list. But then again, I have never built a Koi Pond.
Water Pump: You will need this. It is to circulate the water, introducing air and preventing stagnation.
Bio Filter: probably filters out microorganism something or other. I’m not sure about this, I’ll leave it up to others.
Mechanical Filtration: Yes, to filter out debris from the water.
Ultraviolet Lights: Kills bacteria and good for the wildlife. Yes.
Ozonator: IDK
Aerator: No idea
Waterfall: Can prevent stagnation and keep the oxygen level up, which is healthy.
Fountain: See waterfall. Not needed, but preferred.
Protein Skimmer: Don’t know.
Heating system: Yes if it may freeze. Check to see what the climate tolerances are for the wildlife you’re going to introduce. The Koi will have a minimum water temp they can survive in. The heater will prevent it from dropping below that.
Underwater Lighting: Purely aesthetic. I’d like them but the fish probably won’t care one way or the other.
Whoa, who on earth told you all that!!!!. You would need 2 nd morg!!!! All i did plant,s in bottom, plant,s in margin,s. You know if you have enough because the water will be clear ( water green if not enough) in winter, place tennis bal;l in pond, this let,s gases out of dead plant,s when water freezes. When you buy fish, more colour,s more value, good luck!!
