Can Someone Advise Me As To What Size Submersible Pump (galo Per Hour) I Should Buy To Run A Fountain I Made.?
The fountain is a full size old hand well pump which sits on a large flat stone with a hole to resevoir pan below. Total lift is approx 36″. The hand pump outlet is 1 1/2 inches in diameter into which I installed a diffuser so water should hit inside edges of outlet and fall from pump. There is a water pail hanging below which I will make leak substantially so water returns to resevoir. I am looking to achieve a natural looking discharge of water for pump as it would when pump was operated by hand.

A small pump will work, ~60 -80 gph. The old pumps would work cyclically, water pour, rest, water pour, rest. If you can get a cyclic pump, that would look most realistic, but would take some engineering.
Use your favorite search engine to find a low-cost pump online, or visit a home store near you.
Try this .. run your garden hose in your fountain regulate flow until you get the desired effect then measure time it takes to fill 5 gallon bucket with hose at that flow (I.E..5 gal in 5 minutes= 1gal per min= 60gal per hour) then buy pump to match volume
