My 1986 Ford Bronco 5.8L V8 has a coolant leak located right behind where the water pump mounts. It’s not the water pump itself seeing as i replaced it just today and i still have a “fountain” of coolant coming out from behind the pump. The leak is located about a inch behind where the pump actually mounts on and someone said it might be a head gasket leak. Can anyone confirm or offer another opinion on the matter?

well now you’ve heard a stupid answer see if its the bypass hose or heater hose could be a head but i’d let it get warm full of water look for the leak make sure its not a cracked thermostat housing
good luck
Maybe when you replaced the water pump, you did not clean off all the old gasket, could be leaking from the gasket, check and make sure you did not crack the thermostat housing when removing the old water pump, check all the water hoses and inlets for a tight fit, good luck
hmmm.. thats what it seems like i really cant say with out looking at it but i would say a head gasket leak
one way check the oil and tail pipe for water
if the oil looks like milky then pow thats it
other than that maybe a freeze plug i know ford had them on the heads but where you are talking about doesnt match up
hope that helps
