A wall water fountain is a great investment if you’re looking for a garden accessory that will help you relax. Those with spacious gardens create ponds to complement the beauty of the fountain. Even inside a condo unit, you can have a wall water fountain installed. Have you ever wondered why people go through all these things to build a wall water fountain? This is because having an element of nature indoors or in the garden can have a calming effect on a person. A person can relax just by gazing at the cascading water.
Wall water fountains installation won’t cost much if you do it right. You just need to find a good spot to install it and let the designer do the rest. But to be frugal, you can do it yourself. You can do it yourself by purchasing a kit and following the installation instructions. Here are more tips for you if you are building your own wall water fountain.
Mind the Materials
Durable water fountains are made of high quality materials. You need to make sure that your fountain can last by choosing the materials well. If possible, go for fiber glass and silicon. If there isn’t any choice, go for plastic materials. The material you should be wary of is wood. Molds can also grow on wood so take proper precautions.
Supply of Water
This cute distressed finished outdoor garden fountain features a fro spitting water down a series of lilypads into a bucket. The fountain measures 17 1/2 inches high, 14 inches wide and 11 inches deep, and comes with a submersible pump already connected. Made of sheet metal and twisted round metal rods, it’s finished with rust colored enamel to give it a rusty, aged look. The fountain runs on 110V current, and fits any North American 3 prong outlet. This fountain is brand new, and make (more…)
This is my first water garden, I just dug a small pond and got the liner in. Well, of course it rained last night and now my pond is filled with muddy rainwater. It is less than 100 gallons, so pumping it out wouldn’t be out of the question… just annoying. I wasn’t planning on installing a filter since it is a smaller pond, just using a fountain to circulate and oxygenate the water. Planning on putting in plants and goldfish in a week or so. Is there any other options for removing the dirt from the water besides draining or getting a filter? I was also wondering if anyone knew of any good websites with info on caring for water gardens.
I recently bought a little fountain to put in my flower bed and my neighbor’s pet ducks will not stay out of it! They filth it up, and clog the pump with the filth they get in the water. I’ve been researching online to see what I can do, and the best thing I’ve found is a liquid fence repellent. I’m leary of spending $80 bucks on something I don’t know will work. I tried putting hot sauce in the water, thinking they may not like it, but they don’t seem to care. They’re also nipping my flower buds and blooms off. I’ve asked my neighbors to try to keep them in their yard, but they either can’t, or don’t care. Short of having duck for dinner, I’m not sure what else to do. Also, I’m fearful that the duck repellent will scare the birds away from my feeders. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I don’t want to do anything to hurt them since they are some what “pets”, but they need to stay out of my fountain and flower beds!

I have a fountain type garden pond pump for my fish. It keeps blocking up with water snails and general stuff, how can I stop this?
I bought a small fountain and I have 3 plants in it with 3 tad poles and 2 fish. I have a Pix if want to send me a message. I am worried that the water is not good water for my fish. My Fiance thinks that the plants are too much dirt for a small fountain or my water garden is needing an oxygen pump to keep the Fish alive. My mom has a similar larger scale water garden with a Fountain, plants and fish the only difference is she has well water and her watergarden is much larger than mine. So do I need an oxygen pump plus my fountain? Should I take the plants out? Or do you think I need to buy bottled water to put in my fountain; or atleast buy the chemical that takes the floride and chlorine out of the water?
This is my first time trying something like this. I’m making a 30 gallon half-barrel water garden with 2-3 goldfish, some aquatic snails, and appropriate flora (hyacinth, anacharis, parrot’s feather…). I would like a fountain and filter, but the closest electrical outlet is 50 ft away. I am trying to avoid the hassle of installing UF cable, and have considered as an alternative this solar fountain:http://www.siliconsolar.com/shop/catalog…
I can’t tell if the fountain pump is also a filter, and it won’t be running 24/7. I’ve been reading but haven’t been able to determine what degree of filtration is recommended for a container garden with fish. At least it will keep the water from getting stagnant, which may discourage algae growth, and it will help to oxygenate the water. If I were to couple the solar fountain with weekly 20% water changes, would this be sufficient to deter algae growth and keep ammonia/nitrite levels down?
Is there a low maintenance water pump garden? Where the pump will stop if all water evaporated or frozen?
Most water fountains I have seen at homedepot seems to just keep going even when all water is out? and rather high maintenance? Also maybe unsanitary?
