The problem is all the water splashes out. Someone told me to get a “splitter” and attach a fountain head to one end and use the other end to run the hose for the waterfall. Does this make sense? Where would I find a splitter and how would I attach it?

The marble fountain as a 8 feet circle with no base. There is a 7 foot statue in the center and a brass circle thing to spary the water over the statue.
I dont have anything else. I know i need a pump and to wire power to the fountain, which i would like to add lighting also.
The backyard hasnt be setup, but planning on doing concrete, which they can run conduit to were ever i want.
Is there anything special i can do to make it so the pump isnt seen or to make the setup nicer.
Heard i should run water to it also so it never runs out, not sure what needs to be done for that, there will be a speakler system within 10 feet of the statue.
Any suggestions would be great, on setup or ways to do the setup or if there is something special i should do for the base besides having it in concrete.

What Would Cause The Radiator To Completely Dry Out?

I’m renting a car, a 1986 Suzuki Samurai to two colleagues. They have been driving it daily in very hot weather (35C/95F at midday) up a mountain pass.
Yesterday, they returned telling me the car broke down. They described hearing a ticking noise which would get louder with gas application, followed by a “pop”, followed by the engine completely dying. When I showed up with my mechanic, we found the radiator completely dry and the head gasket blown (when he put water in the radiator and started the car up, the water came spurting out like a fountain). Later, he also found that the water pump was bad.
My question is, what is the likely order of all this happening? The drivers admitted they hadn’t checked the water levels in >2 weeks, despite the hot weather and mountain driving, and despite the odd ticking noise. But the water levels had been reportedly high when they did check them. There was no previous sign of a leak (I’d driven over a higher mountain pass several times without appreciable changes to water levels).
Basically, I need to know who’s responsible for covering the repairs. If the water pump busted first and caused this problem, I’m responsible. But if their negligence in not checking the water levels caused the radiator to dry out, which in turn killed the water pump (and the head gasket) they’re responsible.
Thanks!

Halloween Decoration Problem Need Help?

i am making a blood fountain for Halloween and i really need a water pump (it needs to be cheap) the water pump will pump the water into a skull i have all the things except a water pump! i really need a cheap water pump and the only ones i can find are like 60 bucks! can someone tell me were i can get a water pump really cheap, like around 20 dollars or under, or tell me how to make one?

I need help! Ok so we spent about a total of $150 for this solar powered buddha. We know it only operates if it’s in FULL DIRECT SUNLIGHT. We got it in full sunlight, but the fountain only sprayed the water 1-2 inches! I’m thinking it’s because the motor or panel sucks. Is there a way to improve it? (we don’t feel like spending over $30 to fix)

I recently bought a little fountain to put in my flower bed and my neighbor’s pet ducks will not stay out of it! They filth it up, and clog the pump with the filth they get in the water. I’ve been researching online to see what I can do, and the best thing I’ve found is a liquid fence repellent. I’m leary of spending $80 bucks on something I don’t know will work. I tried putting hot sauce in the water, thinking they may not like it, but they don’t seem to care. They’re also nipping my flower buds and blooms off. I’ve asked my neighbors to try to keep them in their yard, but they either can’t, or don’t care. Short of having duck for dinner, I’m not sure what else to do. Also, I’m fearful that the duck repellent will scare the birds away from my feeders. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I don’t want to do anything to hurt them since they are some what “pets”, but they need to stay out of my fountain and flower beds!

Very Hard Physics Problem Please Help?

A fountain designed to stray a column of water 7 m into the air has a 2 cm diameter nozzle at ground level. The water pump is 2.6 m below the ground. The pipe to the nozzle has a diameter of 4 cm. Find the necessary pump pressure.

I recently added a waterfall which falls into both my pool and my spa. I have a 2 1/2HP circ pump and a 3/4 HP Booster pump for the Polaris, but the flow seems low. When I have the waterfall valve open, the return jets open, and the valve to some fountains open they just don’t give alot of flow. I have to partially close off some of the valves to get the waterfall and fountain to give adequate flow. I am wondering if adding a booster pump just for the water fall will help, or do I need to purchase another circ pump to get the flow up?

I have few ideas such as using several large fountains in series that shoot sea water into the air hundereds of meters to cool the surrounding area. This may effect the dessert climate in a way that it may start to eventually cool the atmosphere and bring in cool air currents. The fountains would take seawater from the nearby seas that surround a particular country and by using gas turbine pumps send the water high into the atmosphere. There would be a byproduct of this process in that it will create seawater lakes that may also contribute to cooling the local area.
Also, as the water falls it will draw in cooler upper atmoshpere air similar to what happens in rain squals when wind is generated by the falling rain drops.

Okay, so this fountain I got at spencers… It has a sculpture of a dragon climbing around a castle and below it there is this well-like think that holds an acrylic ball, and below that there is a basin filled with water. There’s a pump and an LED light that changes color. What happens is the light lights up the acrylic ball which is on a well thats attached to the pump, this cushions the ball on water as a seperate tube leads from the pump to some where throughout the dragon, this makes water leak out of the dragons mouth to cause the ball to spin. I’m telling you all this so you know EXACTLY which one I have, I don’t know if you shop at spencers, but they have ALOT of dragon stuff, especially fountains. Okay now that that’s down, to the central question(s)… This fountain has one more cool feature, it has a little fogging mechanism. I’m not too sure how it worked, I’m using past tense since it stopped, but my questions are;
1. How does this create fog?
2. How do i fix this fogging effect?
3. Does anyone have any additional cleaning advice for these types of fountains?
Sorry this is so long, I really wish there was a website for these things. Thank you for your responses. ^_^

Outdoor Fountain?

I have an outdoor 3 tier fountain made out of a resin material. Can I put chlorine in the water to keep it from getting algea or will it harm the pump??

How Do Fountains Work?

How did old water fountains, such as the ones in Rome or other places in Europe, spray water before they had pumps powered by electricity?

Help With An Old Fountain/pond?

I just bought a place that has an old man made pond. It was owned by an old lady that was in a wheel chair for years so the yard was in real disrepair. I have cleared away the brush and have dug down a bit on the pond. It has white sand below the layer of dirt on top and has a small plastic pipe embeded in the head ( larger grouping of rocks that form a wall ) and nothing is attached to the pipe. Is this where a pump would go to run the water from the pond over the rocks? why is there sand in it? wont that clog the pump? do ponds have running water or can I just fill it every once in a while? What is the best way to figure out how the pond was operated? This pond is about 5 feet across and looks to be about 4 feet deep and slopes down towards the bottom.

There is a pump with a fountain. I think I am missing parts but don’t know what to order as I don’t understand the workings of the 2 tier pond. I don’t know how to pump the water back to the top tier so it can flow over the rocks to the bottom. The tubing seems to be cemented in also. Thank You

What Is Needed For An Outdoor Turtle Pond?

Okay so I need some assistance. I live in a tiny town and apparently the not so smart people at home depot and walmart don’t know what they are talking about. I purchased a 125 gallon hard preformed pond for my backyard. I have a pond turtle in a tank in the house that needs to go outside.
I just want to get it started and the rest will follow:
I need the following:
1) A Filter
2) A Pump
3) Water Fountain Head Attachments
Just to get it started…The rest is ornamental/plants/fish..which I can do.
The guys at home depot keep telling me that the filter is on the pump. But the filter is so small I don’t see how it can filter for a pond turtle. Can you help me with links that shows which three pieces I need to buy to make this pond start to work. The filter is what is really throwing me off. Just seems like I need something more than just the pump filter. I want something that will help keep the pond clean too.
Anything Solar would be great as well. Thank you!

How Can I Control Splashing From My Fountain?

I have a medium sized fountain that stands in the lobby of my wellness center. The water pours out of a spout into a small reservoir of water, which then pours into a larger reservoir. My problem is that the water splashes all over the floor because of the rate at which it is flowing and pouring into itself. I have the pump on the lowest setting, but still it makes a mess, and is ruining the floor (and its very noisy – not the pump, but the water itself).
Does anyone with fountain experience have any ideas for how I can prevent this obnoxious splashing? The whole idea of the fountain was to provide a tranquil waiting area for my clients before they receive their massage treatments.
The pump that’s in there right now is a Beckett M60A. So, can I use a slower pump? And if not, are there any tricks to slowing down the flow otherwise?

hi,

How Can I Attain Clear Water In My Koi Pond?

I have a 130-gallon garden pond in my back yard. I currently have five Koi living in it that are all approximately 4-inches long. I have a submersible 325-GPH pump with a pre-filter attached. I also have a diverter connected to my pump and from that I have a small fountain and a small waterfall running. Unfortunately, my water continues to get more and more green and I’m beginning to lose sight of my fish. What would be the best technique to solve this problem without harming my fish and without spending too much money?
