I’ve looked online and they seem to be for larger fountains, but this fountain is only holds about a half gallon of water…
I wanted an outdoor little water fountain. The ones I see have pumps and plugs- that come from the base of the fountain. Where do you plug them in? The outside plug? What if the fountain is further away? Can I use an extension cord? Are there tricks to hiding the cord? Is it best to unplug them when they aren’t in use?
The fountain is in open directly under sun. It is diameter of 6 feet. Water is circulated through a immersed motor pump
The 20″ Bamboo Rocking Fountain, known as a “deer scarer” combines sound and motion to create a compelling water feature. The Rocking Fountain’s bamboo arm rocks forward when it fills with water, then rocks back to make a gentle “clacking” sound.
Gravity, or a water wheel.
will connect to vintage tub basin connected to pump.
Not sure if fountain is the right word, just a large rock with a hole in the top so water can spill out of the whole over the front of the rock. It will be approx. 7 feet tall, spillway approx. 2-3 feet wide. How many GPH pump do we need?
The sealed solar powered motor drives a pump impeller using a magnetic coupling. I don’t know if the impeller is supposed to be magnetized or not. Mine is and it doesn’t work most of the time. Maybe a spinning magnet in the motor is supposed to drive a non-magnetized impeller in the pump. I would like to know if this is how it is supposed to work.
I am planning on building a copy of his Hydraulic Water Pump (http://imagecache5.art.com/p/LRG/29/2939/JUYRD00Z/leonardo-da-vinci-hydraulic-water-pump-for-a-fountain-codex-atlanticus-1478-1518.jpg) the one on the the bottom. and i have figured almost everything out, but i was wondering what kind of pump he would have used to pump the water to the higher level?
i would like to use one that uses no electricity, and will move close to 100% of the water to the higher level- so it will constantly will keep on working.
I bought a small fountain and I have 3 plants in it with 3 tad poles and 2 fish. I have a Pix if want to send me a message. I am worried that the water is not good water for my fish. My Fiance thinks that the plants are too much dirt for a small fountain or my water garden is needing an oxygen pump to keep the Fish alive. My mom has a similar larger scale water garden with a Fountain, plants and fish the only difference is she has well water and her watergarden is much larger than mine. So do I need an oxygen pump plus my fountain? Should I take the plants out? Or do you think I need to buy bottled water to put in my fountain; or atleast buy the chemical that takes the floride and chlorine out of the water?
The exact name of it escapes me you know the relaxing ones with a small aquarium pump? would like to make it with some smooth rocks piles but dont know where to start
The fountains are fed from a reservoir or aqueduct that is located much higher in the landscape. Gravity produces the pressure.
Your household plumbing works on exactly the same principle. Your house doesn’t have any motor or pump yet the water still fountains upwards when you turn on the hose. That’s because the water towers and reservoirs are high enough above your tap to produce a significant pressure
Need instructions on how to make a Watering Can Fountain w/Suspended Water Faucet. I have the can, 1/2″ plastic tubing, 1/2″ brass spigot and pump. Need to know on to connect tubing to faucet. I’ve read drilling holes and screen, etc., but would like more detailed instr. Thanks
I don’t know if I spelled correctly.
The water pump is to make a special small decoration, that flows water constantly. If for home, not for garden.
I prefer to buy it in Los Angeles.
Thank you.
I am planning on building about a 500 Gallon Pond and have available a 2000 GHP pond pump Powerjet 2000 by Laguna. Is this just to powerful for my to be pond or is this better for kepping the pond clean for my fish and turtle. Also my Filter only handles up to 1400 GPH which is a Pressure-Flo 1400 by Laguna. Will this pump aslo be to strong for the filter. Thank you for your help I love this site.

Few elements are as ubiquitous or as essential as water, or as appealing for the soothing sights and sounds with which it enhances our environment. Fountains are the ideal way to incorporate water’s magic into our homes and gardens, and the fountain maker becomes something of an illusionist, striving emulate nature and to conceal the mechanics that make the perpetual flow of water possible. Dorcas Adkins is certainly a magician when it comes to fountain desig (more…)
All the ones I’ve tried make more noise than the fountain, which kind of spoils the effect
I would like to hear water dripping on slate, not the hum of the pump. Any specific suggestions? Thanks
I have an outside timer box, for the out side lights to click on. it is IN: 120v, 1.1 Amps, out 100 watts max. The fountain has a small pump, like a small little aquarium pump, and it is AC 120v .043Amps. Made by Midas-Lin, Classic fountain. I just bought is from lowes. So can this be hooked up to the timer for automatic starting an stopping.?
i will be getting a reptile soon and i want an inexpensive foundtain, i have the fountain part of it, but i want to know if i can build the pump part myself, not spending to much cash
I try to explain. My mother have a little 20 gallon water fountain. After fall and winter the leaves clog the filter. So, around Feb. I turn it off and then clean about, like today. So, there no Bubbling. When I cleaned it out today there a little frog in the water, cool, I think. But, I wonder if it was eating maybe mosquito larve? If, I turn the pump on and it spray, will the frog leave from the added turbulence? I think the pump would keep mosquitos away as they use stag water. So, am I removing a food source for the frog?
The fountain is a full size old hand well pump which sits on a large flat stone with a hole to resevoir pan below. Total lift is approx 36″. The hand pump outlet is 1 1/2 inches in diameter into which I installed a diffuser so water should hit inside edges of outlet and fall from pump. There is a water pail hanging below which I will make leak substantially so water returns to resevoir. I am looking to achieve a natural looking discharge of water for pump as it would when pump was operated by hand.
We have a small indoor fountain, holding maybe 1.5 quarts of water that is circulated by an electric pump. Every couple of weeks or so, however, the water gets scummy and it’s a chore to empty out the water, clean the surfaces, and add new water.
We’d like to add a small amount of chlorine bleach to the fresh water to keep the scum from forming, but worry about our cat or dog drinking from the fountain (we keep the fountain close to the floor).
Is there an optimum ratio of bleach to water that will retard the scum formation but not harm the pets? And is the scum itself harmful to the pets?
Thanks.
